Awards and Honours

The Stewart Museum programs and exhibitions have been recognized with a range of awards and distinctions, as has its contribution to Montreal’s culture and tourism.

2018 – Institution muséale Award

For the exhibition Expo 67 – A world of dreams

The Distinctions Awards, from Tourisme Montréal, recognize and reward the best tourism initiatives in the city of Montreal.

2012 – Télé-Québec Award

For the animated and interactive model Montréal, ville fortifée

The SMQ Awards are for to encourage, recognize and reward excellence in museum practice in Quebec. They honor the achievements of members whose efforts have contributed significantly to the advancement of Quebec museology.

2004 – Ulysses Award

For the exhibition Joséphine, the Great Love of Napoleon

Grands Prix du tourisme québécois, Montreal region, Category: Tourist attraction, 50,000 visitors or fewer, Tourisme Québec.

The Ulysses Award recognizes remarkable achievement in tourism on a regional or provincial level.

2003 – Outstanding Achievement – Research Category

For the publication The Art of Teaching Physics: Demonstration Apparatus of Jean-Antoine Nollet (1700-1770)

Awarded for museum initiatives that contribute to greater knowledge and understanding.

2002 – Award of Excellence – AQIP

For Day Camp… Fun with History!

Award of excellence

Award presented to an exceptional activity interpretaing aspects of the historical, natural and cultural heritage of Quebec.

2001 – Outstanding Achievement – Research Category

For three activities that showcase the Museum’s collection of globes:
