Spring Break at the Museum

From February 29, the Stewart Museum offers a host of activities that will appeal to the whole family. On program: exhibitions, St. Helen’s Island snowshoe guided tour, collaborative game inspired by escape games, family night at the Museum and more!

Museum admission and activities are free for children 12 and under.
A special fee will also be offered for families.
Admission at only $10.*

*Available from February 29 to March 8 inclusive.

Family Night

Thuesday, March 3, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Meet up at the Stewart for an unusual family evening! This night at the Museum focuses on culture and the outdoors. As part of a guided tour designed specially for families, explore the Nights exhibition and have fun trying out The Story Factory different challenges.

Outdoor lovers can join in a nighttime snowshoe hike along the historic trails of St. Helen’s Island. With a flashlight and a guide, you’ll have an opportunity to discover the remaining traces of the island’s history. Snowshoes are supplied by the Museum.

St. Helen’s Island by snowshoe

Sundays, March 1 and 8, at 1 p.m. in English and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in French
Come and enjoy the fresh air by taking part in St. Helen’s Island by snowshoe. Led by a Museum guide, this snowshoe hike gives families an opportunity to explore the trails on Mont Boullé and discover the island’s rich past.

After your snowshoeing, come inside to warm up and get involved in an activity at The Story Factory. You’ll learn about the origin of snowshoes and build an unusual means of transport using recyclable materials.

Phantoms of the Island

Thursday, Friday and Saturdays, from February 29 to March 7, at 1 p.m. in English and at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in French
With family or friends, come try an event that requires resourcefulness, curiosity and team spirit, as you seek to outwit the ghosts of the new collaborative game Phantoms of the Island, designed by the Stewart Museum and developed in partnership with Randolph.

Story Hour

Weekdays, from March 2 to 6, at 1 p.m. in English and at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in French
Bring your whole family to listen to stories from children’s books written by well-known author Dominique Demers. Hosted by a Museum guide, Story Hour will feature a variety of tales, including Lustucru, le loup qui pue! You won’t be able to keep a straight face!

Activity animated by cultural mediators.
All ages, recommended for adults with children ages 3 to 8.

Toys World

Weekdays, from March 2 to 6, at 12:30 p.m. in English and 10:30 a.m. and at 2:30 p.m. in French
At the Nights exhibition, you’ll have an opportunity to explore the imaginary night of children’s author Dominique Demers as part of a guided tour designed specially for families.

In a child’s bedroom, stuffed animals, tin soldiers and all kinds of other toys join forces to help young Louis-Philippe overcome his fear of the dark.

The Story Factory

Tous les jours en libre-service
Budding historians can take part in the fun-filled participatory activities of The Story Factory. Three challenges are set that involve writing, questioning and reinventing history.

For instance, if you love doing things yourself and prototyping, you can let your creativity go wild as you imagine and build the ideal means of transportation of the future and display it at the Museum afterwards.
